All-surface bonding of PVC floor coverings

For the full-surface bonding of PVC floor coverings they are modern, dispersion-bonded one-sided adhesives, which give rise to fast initial sticking and high final strength. Most of these adhesives today are solvent-free, therefore they are processed without odor loading.
A notched trowel is required for the application of adhesives, which shape and size of the toothing corresponds to the processing of the adhesive manufacturer. Some products are supplied with a suitable putty.
As PVC floor coverings can only be glued on dry substrates, flat and smooth, are necessary depending on the circumstances – some preliminary work. Uneven concrete or cement screed surfaces are first leveled with a liquid screed. Rough and highly absorbent surfaces should be smoothed before application.
When the substrate is dry (observe the drying times of fillers and liquid screed!) they are carefully swept with a bristle brush. The use of a vacuum cleaner is not without significance here. The PVC floor covering is laid out, or when laying several stripes - first the first full-surface strip. The carpet should be arranged in this way, so that its pattern runs perpendicular to the walls or diagonally as desired.
The floor covering is cut in the door area, window recesses and covered balconies yes, that it lies very carefully. A carpet knife is used for this. When cutting, stand on the floor covering so that it cannot move. The knife runs obliquely at the edges between the adjacent walls and the floor. On long wall surfaces, the floor covering is trimmed exactly in the same way.
One half of the carpet is loaded with heavy objects, and he rolls up the other half. The lining must not shift during this process. Sufficient glue is now poured onto the free part of the substrate.
The adhesive is first spread roughly with a notched trowel, and then align the plane with this putty. The adhesive should be distributed as evenly as possible over the entire floor surface, also on the edges. For this, the notched trowel is guided in different directions, the excessive amount of glue is put back into the container. The glue is left on 10-15 min for degassing.
Now you carefully break down the floor covering with the glue. This is done by unwinding the folded page. Then a piece of wood is rubbed against the carpet from the center to the edges. The adhesive has a hardening time of the order 50 min. Before rubbing, you can slightly adjust the direction of the carpet.
Then the glued one is weighted down, and the free half of the carpet is rolled up. The adhesive is then applied again, without forgetting the necessary degassing time.
The laying is done again by carefully unrolling the floor covering. Finally, any protruding edges are cut with a carpet knife.

Before laying, the floor covering should be over 1 do 2 days to adapt to the room climate. During this time it should be developed.

When laying several strips, they are placed on the floor like this, that they match exactly in the pattern area. Both belts are loaded with heavy objects, so that they cannot move. The two belts are cut where they overlap along the steel gutter (e.g.. wallpaper rail). Gluing is carried out according to the above-described method, first on both sides of the intersection. After the stripes are glued in this area, they can be rolled up and glued on the other surfaces.
