Column-beam structure

tmp5019-2An example of a contemporary column-beam structure.

Designing frame buildings on a regular modular mesh allows you to significantly simplify the structure and limit the number of columns in the walls to the nodes of this mesh.

Such a structure is often exposed in the project by leaving visible columns and exposed joists.

The presented solution of the column-beam structure has individual elements connected by means of clamps on both sides:

• Doubled columns encompass the joist beams or vice versa – the double beam of the binder covers the columns.

• The columns are stiffened with the ceiling joists surrounding them, perpendicular to the binders supporting them.

• Cross bracing prevents horizontal wind pressure from acting on the structure.
