Advantages of plasterboard drywall systems

Advantages of drywall systems made of plasterboards when finishing utility attics:

• They guarantee fire resistance appropriate for utility attics - properly made single-layer attic construction allows to maintain qualified fire resistance F 0,5 (do 30 minutes).
• They enable the installation of an additional layer of thermal insulation in the roof slope.
• They provide good acoustic insulation.
• Measurable physical factors are complemented by the non-measurable factor which is the possibility of creating an aesthetic utility interior.

Stages of works on the attic building made of plasterboards:
• Installation of thermal insulation – Base layer, made of wool with a thickness of approx 15 cm, it is placed between the rafters, and the additional layer approx 5 cm between the supporting grate of the plasterboard sheathing,
• Leveling
• Installation of supporting profiles (major) to the roof trusses.
• Installation of a vapor barrier – The durability of the entire building depends on the tightness and accuracy of the vapor-insulation.
• Installation of plasterboard sheathing – Place the plasterboards with the contacts shifted to each other in this way, so that the joints of the following panels are shifted relative to each other by at least 40 cm (or a multiple of that size).
• Grouting the joints between the plates – In the primed joints, masking tapes are glued into the gypsum plaster, covering the joint of the plates.
• Painting or wallpapering.

The internal plasterboard sheathing of the attic roof truss can be made both on the grate of wooden profiles as well as from system handles and steel profiles.
