What curtain rods to use at home?

Curtains are a very important decorative element of a room, So the right choice of a curtain rod has an impact on the final appearance of the window. Currently, we have a wide selection of curtain rods on the market: from simple ones, inconspicuous, to very decorative. Installing them is straightforward.

One of the most tasteful, and at the same time inconspicuous curtain rails, they are narrow, white plastic or metal rails. They are sold in a large range of common sizes with hangers (frogs), with which curtains are hung.
Installation of the curtain rod is simple, you only need to cut the rail to the appropriate length, fasten in a suitable place, then put plastic stops on the ends. Some of them are flexible enough, that they can be bent and installed next to arched windows.
Most of the curtain rods are attached to the wall with special brackets. Some brackets consist of two parts. One is screwed to the wall at the appropriate height, and the second, when attached to the rail, connects to the first. Usually, such brackets can also be attached to the ceiling. This is applicable, especially when, the curtain rod is stretched across the window recess.
Decorative curtain rods
Some curtain rods, e.g.. made of bronze or wooden with wooden circles strung on them, in addition to their purely functional function, after appropriate display, they are also supposed to play a decorative role in the room. These types of curtain rods are mounted on brackets, which keep them at some distance from the wall. Due to the possibility of lengthening and shortening the brackets, the distance between the curtain rod and the wall can be adjusted. It is very important to fix the curtain rods securely, especially then, when heavy curtains hang on them. In the case of solid walls (brick) the fixing screws should be screwed into the wall plugs previously placed in the wall. In the case of plasterboard walls or ceilings, the brackets should be attached to a wooden or metal frame. Fixing the curtain rods to the plasterboard itself may not be sufficiently strong.
