Repair of furniture surfaces

The surfaces of veneered furniture can be damaged in various ways. Light dents on the surface can be removed by applying a cloth tampon soaked in water to the damaged area and heated with a hot soldering iron.. Fill small scratches with varnish using a very small artistic brush, with a narrow point. Abrasions and tarnishing of the varnished surface are supplemented by applying a thin layer of varnish with a tampon. Deeper scratches must be painted with a marker of the appropriate color before filling with varnish.
