How to correctly replace fuses at home and what are their types?

“Traffic jams” colloquially we call fuses hidden in a fuse box. If they are the cause of the power outage, we can deal with this problem ourselves. There are two types of fuses in use: stare, ceramic (fusible) and new, automatic.

Ceramic fuses:

– before removing the broken ceramic fuse, we must turn off the main power fuse. Then remove the defective fuse and check it, whether the delicate wire running through its interior burned out,
– we buy a fuse with the same parameters, which are written on the edge of the fuse tip, e.g.. 8 A, 20 A,
– screw in a new fuse in place of the blown one and turn on the main power supply. If the fuse blows again – the problem is more serious and an electrician should be called,
– Do not repair fuses yourself – burned ones can only be replaced.

Circuit breakers do not blow, only turn off. All switches should be in the position 1 that is, turned on. Just open the fuse box, find the fuse, which switched to 0 and put him back in position. If the fuse breaks the power again, contact an electrician.
