In veneers, lacquered or varnished chipboard furniture, with a strong impact, a shallow dent may be created, which is clearly visible, especially against the light. To remove them, put a wool tampon saturated with clean water on the dent. It is made of fluff of wool wrapped in a thin cloth. Stick the tip of a not too hot soldering iron to the tampon. The temperature will turn the water into steam and it will penetrate the surface of the plate. The swarf of the board will swell, and thus the alignment of the plate.
