The quality of the glass putty determines whether the glass is fixed in the window, with which we attach the panes. Putty stored for a long time becomes too hard, often, after adding varnish and kneading it well, it turns out to be too thin. And the one sometimes bought in the store may also be too rare (too soft). Then it can be brought to the proper consistency by rolling the putty roller over the unfolded newspaper. It will absorb the excess varnish very quickly. In order not to stain the surface, we put two layers of old newspapers.
